Who the course is for
Nurses and other non-anesthesia clinicians who administer or monitor moderate and procedural sedation — in endoscopy and GI units, emergency departments, cardiac cath and interventional radiology suites, ambulatory surgery centers, dental and oral-surgery practices, and outpatient clinics. Facilities use the same course to put every sedation nurse through one documented education and competency pathway; if you are enrolling ten or more people, the facility page has the seat pricing and the roster tools.
The course itself is open to all of them. The credential is not: the CSRN™ certificate and the AAMSN membership are issued to Registered Nurses only. If you are an LPN, CRNA, physician, dentist, physician assistant, respiratory therapist or another healthcare professional, you can take the course and claim the continuing-education credit, and that is what your completion will show.
How the course is built
Ten modules follow the full arc of sedation safety, from scope of practice through complication management to two competency case studies. Each module ends in a short exam, so competency is demonstrated as you go rather than in a single high-stakes final.

Assessment and attempts
Each of the eight course parts carries a five-question exam, and each of the two case studies carries one more — ten short exams in all, with 80% to pass. There is no proctored final exam. You get three attempts at every module exam. If you use all three on a module without passing it, a fourth, comprehensive attempt is available for $150; it unlocks immediately on purchase and is a single attempt.

Refunds, in plain terms
Courses that have been started, completed with a certificate issued, or failed are not refundable. Special circumstances are considered if you contact us within 30 days of purchase. The $150 fourth attempt is refundable within 30 days if it has not been started. Group seats that have not been assigned to a learner are refundable within 30 days. No state board mandates this specific course. What state rules and facility policies generally require is documented competency, which is what this course is built to produce. Is there a final exam?
No single high-stakes final. Competency is assessed across the ten short module exams, five questions each, 80% to pass, with three attempts included on each.
How long do I have?
Course access runs for one year from purchase. The credential you earn is valid for two years.
Is the certificate accepted by my employer or a surveyor?
Your certificate carries your name, the contact hours, the completion date and a unique certificate number, and we hold a verification record that an employer or surveyor can confirm with us.
Do I need an RN license to get the certificate?
Yes. The CSRN™ certificate and the AAMSN membership are issued only to Registered Nurses holding a current, valid RN license — that is what the license type, number and state you enter at checkout record. Any healthcare professional may take the course, and everyone who completes it earns the 10 contact hours of continuing-education credit; the credential itself is RN-only.
Is CSRN™ a nursing-board credential?
No. CSRN™ is a program credential. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the American Nurses Association (ANA) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). It is a specialty certification designed to support safe clinical practice and facility compliance.
