What the California Board of Registered Nursing approval covers, what the contact hours mean, and what the CSRN™ credential is.
California Board of Registered Nursing
Healthy Visions is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing as a continuing education provider, Provider #CEP 17185, for 10 contact hours on the moderate sedation certification course.
You can confirm this yourself. The Board’s continuing-education page explains what an approved provider is, and the Department of Consumer Affairs licence search lists approved providers — choose Registered Nursing, Board of, licence type Continuing Education Provider – CEP, and enter 17185.
Under California regulation (16 CCR §1450), one contact hour means 50 minutes of participation in an approved course. The ten contact hours on this course are awarded on completion of all ten modules and their assessments.
What that does and does not mean
CA BRN provider approval means the course meets that board’s standards for continuing education and that the contact hours are accepted for California RN licence renewal. Many other state boards accept contact hours from a board-approved provider — but acceptance is the individual board’s decision, and some boards have their own rules. Check your own board before you rely on these hours, and see your state guide.
The CSRN™ credential
CSRN™ is a program credential issued by this program. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the American Nurses Association (ANA) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). It is a specialty certification designed to support safe clinical practice and facility compliance.
No state board mandates this specific course. State rules and facility policies generally require documented competency; this course is built to produce that documentation.
Certificates
Your certificate is issued automatically on completion and carries your name, the contact hours, the completion date and a unique certificate number.
Recertification awards 3 contact hours under the same provider approval. About recertification →
